With your help, the Catholic Education Foundation is changing lives.
The Catholic Education Foundation is a 501(c)3 charity that provides financial assistance scholarships for at-risk students at the lowest poverty levels.
By helping these children, and their families, we are transforming their lives with access to an exceptional K-12 Catholic education where academic rigor, faith and social support are prioritized.
Among the 1,500+ students CEF serves throughout the 21-county region of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas, as many as 95% are ethnic minorities living at the federal poverty level, and 99% of them achieve high school graduation and advance to college or career training.
The Catholic Education Foundation’s Gaudeamus benefit gala has been the backbone of scholarship funding for low-income Catholic school students in northeast Kansas for 17 years. Gaudeamus, meaning "let us rejoice", provides 80% of the annual funds needed for CEF’s tuition-assistance scholarships for students most in need.
This year, Gaudeamus is going virtual. We invite you to bring our beloved event home and share this wonderful celebration of Catholic education with your family and friends.
While our 2020 gala will look a bit different, so does the unprecedented need our school communities are facing. Thanks to the generous support from last year’s gala, CEF was able to award $2.5 million in scholarships during the 2019-20 school year, plus additional emergency assistance funding in response to the pandemic. The 2020-21 school year has already ushered in a record amount of new requests. Now more than ever, your participation in Gaudeamus can change a child’s life.
