Each year, the Catholic Education Foundation recognizes individuals whose generosity helps ensure students of all backgrounds have access to a high-quality, faith-filled education. The Michael and Patty Morrisey Angels Among Us Award celebrates members of our caring CEF community for their dedication to Catholic education.
For nearly 60 years, Monsignor Tank — known to most as Fr. Tom — has been a faithful shepherd to Catholic schools, parishes, and the people of Northeast Kansas.
Ordained in 1967, Monsignor Tank’s leadership has shaped generations through parish ministry and key initiatives in the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas.
Monsignor Tank was the first chaplain at Bishop Ward High School, was instrumental in the founding of Community Housing of Wyandotte County, Prairie Star Rank/Camp Tekakwitha, Santa Marta Senior Community and establishing the popular annual Men Under Construction Event and Christ Renews His Parish program, just to name a few.
His enduring commitment to Catholic education and faith formation has strengthened schools and inspired countless students, families, and educators over the years.
The Catholic Education Foundation is proud to honor Monsignor Tank at this year's Gaudeamus benefit gala on Saturday, November 1st at the Overland Park Convention Center.
